Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Venuera (“Venuera”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit venuera.com (the “Site”), create an account, purchase or use the Venuera plugin and add-ons, or otherwise interact with us (together, the “Services”). We are the data controller for the personal information described here.

We aim to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. Please read this policy together with our Cookie Policy and Terms & Conditions.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account or purchase a licence, we (and our checkout provider) collect your name, email address, password and the licence and order details associated with your account.

Purchase and billing information

Payments and licensing for our paid add-ons are handled by Freemius, which acts as our authorised reseller and merchant of record. When you buy from us, your payment is processed by Freemius and, where applicable, its payment processors. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We receive limited order data such as your name, email, billing country, the product purchased and the status of your licence. See the Freemius Privacy Policy for details of their processing.

Support communications

If you contact us for support or by email, we collect the information you choose to provide, including your message, contact details and any technical details relevant to your request.

Website usage and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. This involves cookies and the collection of data such as your IP address (often truncated/anonymised), device and browser type, pages viewed and referring source. This data helps us improve the Services. See Google’s Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.

Plugin diagnostic data (optional)

The Venuera plugin integrates the Freemius SDK to manage licences and updates. With your opt-in consent, the plugin may also share non-sensitive diagnostic data (such as your WordPress and PHP version, active plugins and the email associated with the licence) to help us improve compatibility and support. You can decline this when activating the plugin, and licence verification and updates will still work.

Comments

If you leave a comment on our blog, we collect the name, email address and any other content you submit, along with your IP address and browser information to assist spam detection.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to: provide and maintain the Services; create and manage your account; process orders, licences, renewals and refunds (via Freemius); deliver software updates; provide customer support; communicate with you about your account, purchases and important service notices; send marketing communications where you have consented or where permitted by law; analyse and improve the Site and our products; detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security issues; and comply with our legal obligations.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services, accounts, licences and support you request); legitimate interests (to secure, analyse and improve the Services, and for direct communications to existing customers, balanced against your rights); consent (for analytics and marketing cookies, optional diagnostic data and marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (for tax, accounting and compliance requirements).

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers (processors) who help us run the Services, and where required by law. Our key providers include:

  • Freemius – checkout, payments, licensing and order management (merchant of record).
  • Google – website analytics (Google Analytics).
  • Our hosting and email providers – to operate the Site and send transactional and support emails.
  • Anti-spam and security services – to protect the Site and detect abusive activity.

We may also disclose information to comply with applicable law, enforce our Terms & Conditions, or protect the rights, property and safety of Venuera, our users or others. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. International data transfers

Some of our providers operate outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, so that your data remains protected.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy: account and licence data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services; order and billing records for the period required by tax and accounting law; support communications for as long as needed to handle and document your request; and analytics data in line with our analytics settings. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; to correct inaccurate data; to request erasure; to restrict or object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page. If you have a WordPress account with us, you can also use WordPress’s built-in data export and erasure tools.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to address any incidents responsibly.

9. Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for businesses and individuals aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us through our contact page.
