Pick a preset and start tapping. Nothing to set up, nothing to sign into, and it keeps counting with no signal.
Enter the licensed capacity and every tap updates how full the room is, how many spaces are left and roughly what time you hit the limit at the current rate. That last number is what stops a door from being closed by surprise.
The In / Out preset makes one counter subtract instead of add, so the big number is live occupancy rather than everyone who ever walked past. Useful for rooms guests leave and re-enter all night.
Give every scan lane its own counter and you find out afterwards which lane did the work, which staffer needs help and whether the fourth lane was worth opening at all.
Two taps tell you how much door business you really do. Bring that to the next planning meeting instead of a feeling, and price the walk-up accordingly.
Counters are not only for people. Tally beers, shirts or coat tickets going out, set a target on each and the card fills up as you approach it.
The CSV gives you the numbers per counter and minute by minute, and the printed tally sheet is the one-pager to staple to the settlement - with the totals, the busiest minute and the time you started counting already on it.
On a phone, turn on door mode for one giant number that fills the screen, and keep the screen awake so it does not sleep between guests. On a laptop at the guest-list table, never touch the mouse:
Nowhere but your browser. Counts are saved on the device as you tap, so a refresh, a dead connection or a locked phone does not lose the door. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account to make.
That has one consequence worth knowing: the counts belong to that browser on that device. To put the same setup on a second phone, open the share menu, copy the link and send it over - it carries the counters, their colours, their targets and the capacity. Two devices then count separately, so use one per position rather than expecting them to sync.
Undo covers everything, including resetting to zero and loading a preset, which is why the tool never stops to ask "are you sure".
