Set up the Calendar

The Calendar add-on puts every one of your Venuera events on a single responsive calendar – a month grid, a seven-day week strip, or a plain chronological list. It is the “what is on” hub for venues and organisers who run more events than a single event page can usefully show.

Requirements

• The Venuera core, installed and active. The Calendar reads your existing events; it does not create any.
• WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+.
• An active licence. Like every Venuera add-on, the Calendar runs only while its licence is active – when it lapses, the engine simply does not load and the shortcode stops rendering. Nothing about your events is touched.
• The Recurring Events add-on is optional. Without it, an event still shows on its own single date; with it, a recurring series is expanded so every occurrence gets its own cell.

Install and activate

1. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the Calendar zip, then Install Now and Activate.
2. Activate your licence when prompted.

Publish your first calendar

1. Create a page – What is on, Events, Programme, whatever fits your site.
2. Add the Venuera Calendar block from the block inserter, or paste the shortcode [venuera_calendar] into the page.
3. Publish and view the page. With no options set you get the month grid for the current month, showing upcoming events in every category.

There is nothing to configure

The add-on has no settings screen. Everything it does is expressed in the four options you pass to the shortcode or set on the block, so two calendars on two different pages can behave completely differently – see views & options.
