Price products & tickets

Member Pricing ·5 min read ·Updated July 2026
You're here because

you are adding member prices to products, variations and event tickets - including early birds that carry their own member price.

Simple products

Edit the product and find the Member pricing card directly under the price fields. Each row is one audience and its price; the Saving column shows live what that audience saves against the regular price. Add rows with the audience picker, remove them with the × on the row.

Variable products and ticket types

On a variable product the card appears on each variation instead, so every variation carries its own audience prices. With Venuera active this is exactly how variable event tickets work: each ticket type (Standard, VIP, Early Bird…) gets its own member prices. The “from X” price range on the product page reflects member prices too – a member sees their own range.

The two special values

  • 0 means free. A zero price is stored and honoured – that audience pays nothing.
  • Empty means the public price. Clearing a field removes the member price entirely; the audience pays whatever the public pays. The two are never confused.

Member prices and sales

The two work together sensibly, in the buyer’s favour:

  • A member price below the regular price renders like a sale – member price shown, regular price struck through – in any theme, because it flows through WooCommerce’s own sale mechanics.
  • If you run a public sale that dips below the member price, members get the sale price. Membership never costs the buyer money.
  • A member price above the regular price is allowed – some organisers deliberately charge outside groups more. The editor warns you (“Members would pay more than the public price”) but does not stop you, and a deliberate surcharge stands exactly as configured.

Early birds with their own member price

Venuera’s per-ticket-type sale window closes an early bird on its own date; Member Pricing gives that same ticket type its own member price. Two ticket types – Early Bird and Standard, each with a member price – replace the four you would otherwise maintain (early bird, member early bird, standard, member standard), and the switchover happens on its own.

Good to know: prices you type here are enforced on the server on every cart calculation – what the product page submitted is never trusted. The full model is in correct about money.
