Skip or exclude a single date

Recurring Events ·4 min read ·Updated June 2026
You're here because

one date in your series is different - a special guest, a moved start time, a one-off cancellation - and you need to change it without touching the rest.

A recurring schedule gives you a consistent series, but real life has exceptions. Venuera lets you take an individual date out of the series without touching the rest.

Exclude a date

In the event’s Recurrence settings there is an Excluded Dates list. Add a date there and it is dropped from the generated series – it is no longer offered on the event page and no tickets are sold for it – while every other occurrence keeps selling. Use it for a holiday, a one-off closure, or any date the pattern would otherwise create.

The series stays intact

Excluding a date only removes that one occurrence. The recurrence pattern, the product, the artwork and every other date are untouched, so you keep the convenience of a single schedule.

Check-in windows follow each date automatically

Each occurrence’s time-based check-in windows are computed from that occurrence’s own start time, so an “event window” rule opens and closes around the correct date for every occurrence – you don’t set this per date.

Need a genuinely different time, price or capacity for one date? Those are set on the event and on the ticket product for the whole series, so for a true one-off exception it’s cleanest to run that date as its own separate event.
