Field types & options
You're here because
you want the right input for each question - a dropdown for sizes, a checkbox for consent, a date for birthdays.
There are nine field types, so each question uses the most natural input instead of forcing everything into a text box.
The types
- Text – a single line (name, company).
- Textarea – a longer multi-line answer (notes, requirements).
- Number – numeric input.
- Email – validated email address.
- Phone – telephone number.
- Date – a date picker.
- Dropdown (select) – choose one from a list you define.
- Radio – pick one option from a list; the first option is pre-selected by default.
- Checkbox – one or more options the attendee can tick (define at least one option; there is no standalone single-tick consent field).
Options for choice fields
For dropdown, radio and multi-checkbox fields you define the options the attendee picks from – for example T-shirt sizes XS–XXL, or meal choices. Clean options keep your exported data tidy and consistent. A checkbox or radio field with no options defined won’t render at checkout, so always add at least one option; the options box is hidden for non-choice field types.
Tip: use a dropdown rather than free text whenever answers fall into known categories – it stops typos and makes counting (how many vegetarians?) trivial.
