USB & Bluetooth readers
You’re here because…
you have a hardware barcode/QR reader and want the fastest possible scanning for a busy gate.
For high-volume entrances, a dedicated USB or Bluetooth reader is faster than a camera. The app supports them with no special setup.
How it works
Hardware QR/barcode readers act as a keyboard: when they scan a code, they “type” it and press Enter. The check-in app listens for that, so a scan drops straight into the manual entry box and submits automatically — read, beep, next.
Connect a reader
- Pair a Bluetooth reader to the phone/tablet, or plug a USB reader into a device that has a port (or a USB-OTG adapter).
- Open the check-in app and make sure the scan screen has focus.
- Scan a ticket — the code is entered and checked instantly, running the same rules as every other method.
Best of both: keep the camera available as a fallback for the occasional crumpled ticket the hardware reader struggles with.
